I have been calling them this past week and how funny but when my number comes up, the are closed. I sat on hold for 1 hour 40 minutes and 24 seconds to hear another recording they are now closed. No call backs and no large box. This company is a company of jesters and clowns. I will be filing a law suit. DON"T USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!

Bunch of scammers.

I should of known the bait and switch based on misc. reviews. They calculate unrealistic space and a few days later call you to add more space with the movers will charge you twice as much. Then they want to charge you 2 to 3 times the original space per cubic feet. I lost $500 deposit part of their scam won't call you until past the 72 hours cancellation. Bunch of used car salesman in every business. This should be illegal.

Out of State Move.

I couldn’t have had a better experience with Razor Van Lines. I also have a musical studio with delicate instrumentation. It is a quite expensive set up. The agent came to the house, not only was he able to give me a great estimate, but also give me the confidence that Razor Van Lines could move the music studio and art that I have. I really am amazed at the quality of the employees’ packing jobs as well as the great communication between the agent and me. Thanks to Razor Van Lines moving, our things made it across the state safely and made my move painless.

Long-distance move from Lincoln, CA to Eagle, ID

Total bait and switch for us too!!

We called and were quoted $2800 to move a 3 bedroom home from Lincoln, CA to Eagle, ID. Then 3 days before the movers arrive they call to confirm the pick up and go through the itemized list. They tell us that it will be another $1000 which we agree to and pay the $2500 deposit. They arrive and then tell us the first two quotes were completely off and now want $11,000. Total scammers. Should had realized the first time they called back with, "We will be disciplining," the first customer agent who wrongly quoted us. Now they won't give back even a portion of the deposit. We are a very thorough family and thought we had everything lined up, but this company is a mess. Luckily we chose to move things weeks before our actual need. PLEASE STIR CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY!!

Completely unprofessional, Do NOT trust with your home.

This company is completely unprofessional and takes no responsibility for their actions. I hired them for a cross country move from NYC to Minnesota. First off, the move costed over 2x as much as the original quote. Second, they subcontracted me to another moving company. This company damaged quite a bit of my property during the move: broken dishes, furniture, pictures, etc. I reached out to the company representative to let him know this subcontracted company was awful and completely destroyed the majority of my stuff. They took no responsibility. In fact, they never responded to my complaint at all. Completely unprofessional, irresponsible and untrustworthy. DO NOT HIRE!!

Great experience with this company.

This moving company is absolutely great! They provided me with packing supplies, gave me a lot of tips for moving that I'll keep with me for life, and the movers were so careful and professional with all of my items; They make you feel important. I was also able to keep a few of my possessions in storage for free for up to 30 days (even though I only needed a week and a half). Highly recommended!

Bait & Switch Scammers.

Do not deal with Razor Van Lines they are just a con-artist broker that quotes a very inaccurate and low estimate of your total moving cost and then hands the job off to an “actual moving company” after they get a huge cash deposit from you (40% of estimate). My “estimate” turned out to be over 220% too low. The moving company demanded an additional 120% on top of the original written estimated total cost or they would not load the furniture. After 72 hours you cannot get your deposit refunded. Razor makes sure the “actual moving company” arrives at the pick-up location after the 72 hours has expired. Before you find out that you have been conned.

I appreciate how efficiently they did everything.

The company was pleasant, comfortable, work-friendly. It was quick to provide a quotation and a timetable, and the workers were friendly and professional. Thirty minutes early, the movers arrived, loaded/unloaded very quickly and packed large items. The quality of the service they offered was very reasonable. I will support and use this business for future action.

Excellent Service ?

Razor Van Lines did not disappoint. About a month ago I was scheduled to move with a different company, but the price that they told me changed on the day of the move. Out of principle, I decided to decline their services.

A friend of mine recommended that I call Razor Van Lines. They gave me an accurate price, and you could tell that the movers were extremely experienced. All of my important items were wrapped and treated with care.

You won't be disappointed if you choose to go with these guys.

Best movers.

I looked at five different moving companies and Razor Van Lines seemed to be very honest. The other companies were sort of hiding and they were only third-party brokers. But when I talked with Razor Van Lines and interacted with the moving consultant. He was excellent. The quote that they gave me was very accurate, compared to the final cost. The whole move took five days.

Long-distance move from San Diego, CA to Ellenwood, GA

No response wouldn’t return my calls to refund my deposit.

My husband is in the military and we are moving cross country. I spoke to three different individuals Mark, Tim, and Archie with this company. I initially started working with one representative Tim, he didn’t sell me so he got his coworker Archie to try and persuade me, then came the higher up mark who finally was able to get me to put down a deposit. Which as their policy after 72 hours it’s non refundable but you can get a credit. Now before ending the call. I was given contact numbers for all three agents who assured me that they were available for contact and if I had any questions to contact them. After As this being my first time dealing with movers I had more questions. After calling all three individuals and leaving an email for mark karlin “senior moving coordinator”, I had yet to hear a response. Something just didn’t feel right so after discussing it further with my husband we decided against continuing with this company.

So on day 2 I call once again mark, Tim and Archie. Still no response I decide to call the quote line. I was able to speak to a representative I told her I was looking to cancel my deposit and get a refund. She put me on a brief hold. Once she came back she told me that she isn’t authorized to give refunds that it was above her level. She said mark would give me a call back. That has yet to happen and it is 4 days after the fact. Now I’ve called, left voicemails and emails. This company has refused to get in contact with me return or answer any of my calls and if I call the customer line I get I’m unable to help you. Be careful who you give your money to.

Recommended!

They're not going to be the cheapest option, but they're among the best. Was very happy with the crew's hustle and diligence, and great customer service on the phones. At the new house, they skillfully put the items in the required rooms and those which were to remain stored they put in the garages, separating them for, 'required, maybe' and 'required, not likely'!

I had a great experience with Razor Van Lines.

The movers were polite, professional, efficient and kind. Their packing skills and wrapping furniture was over-the-top quick and thorough. I have never seen a mover show up on time, but these guys did. They did a walkthrough to review contents and locations, understood our expectations and were beyond courteous and helpful. I would recommend them to anyone who's moving far away or even close by. Very efficient!

Scam - do Not Hire This Company.

If it were possible to give Zero stars that is what I would do. Take my advice, do not trust these people. Do not give them your money. They will "strongly" recommend ACH payments directly from your bank account - DO NOT AGREE. At least if you use your credit card the company can reverse the payment when this company inevitably screws you over. They will sell you on a 100% deposit refund if you call within 72 hours. THIS IS ALSO A SCAM. Read the contract carefully before you sign it. Per the contract, you must cancel via email- and you can only get 90% back and even that is at the discretion of the manager. It is also exceedingly clear that they are posting their own positive reviews to trying to artificially inflate their ratings.

Scam.

I would NOT RECOMMEND this company to anyone planning a move. Both the broker and customer service rep were MISLEADING. The conversation we had over the phone was different than that of the contract I signed. I was SCAMMED. Furthermore, The Razor Van Lines workers are DISHONEST, going to EXTREME MEASURES to make sure I was outside of the refund window and therefore refusing to give me the full refund I was entitled to in the contract. I have already taken further action with the better business bureau!

Long-distance move from Chicago, IL to Ann Arbor, MI

Scam!!

Be weary of the websites that you fill out your info on to get move quotes!

THE LIE: Right out of the gate, the individual I spoke to opened with a lie. John told me “we are one of the largest military movers in the country”.

THE FACT: This a is a completely false statement. Being a member of the DOD, I checked the list of approved movers and brokers and Razor Van lines IS NOT an approved carrier. The very first sentence out of Johns mouth to me was a complete lie!

The very first red flag for me was that their quote and estimated cubic footage for the move was significantly lower than others (about half) as were their storage rates. I would later learn after some research this is most likely the beginning of a “hostage load” and while my possessions weren’t held hostage, there are plenty of reviews on here that did have this happen. Quick summary, the BROKER (Razor) significantly under estimates your load making the rates sound like a steal. When the actual moving company shows up they say the estimate is completely wrong, they take your items and they don’t give them back until you pay them. This is a common tow company scam too. The “deposit” that the broker will take up front is their “commission” and good luck getting that back. The balance due afterwards is between you and the moving company they brokered it out to and the broker (RAZOR) is free and clear with your deposit. You can read more about “hostage loads” in this article

https://www.sun-sentinel.com/business/fl-bz-how-to-protect-yourself-against-moving-company-schemes-20180814-story.html

As we talked for quite a lengthy period of time, I started to notice some holes in Johns story, for example;

THE LIE: They say if you use an e-check you won’t have to worry about being charged 5-10% more by your credit card company. I inquired about this fee and was told its an “essential business surcharge” as a result of the COVID crisis. John stated RAZOR DOES NOT charge this but the credit card company does. When I poked a little more, he put me on hold for 5 seconds, came back and said the surcharge will be waived if I wanted to use a credit card. Note that he said the CREDIT CARD COMPANY charges this, but he talked to his manager and waived it? Hmmm….sounds suspicious.

THE FACT: After I got off the phone with him (and DID NOT put down a deposit) I called the credit card company and they said they’d never heard of an “Essential business surcharge”. This has been proven a lie and it’s very obvious that they try to dissuade you from using a credit card as I’m sure it’s a headache for them to deal with disputes. I would NEVER give these people cash, because if you do, it’s as good as gone.

THE LIE: I asked John if the moving truck would be a third party. He said that while they do broker some moves, they also have their own fleet of trucks and he actually GUARANTEED that the truck moving my stuff would be one of theirs.

THE FACT: This was the biggest lie of them all and here is proof why….in the quote they send you it states the following: “5. AS A PROPERLY LICENSED INTERSTATE MOVING COORDINATOR/SHIPPER AGENT/BROKER, RAZOR VAN LINES IS NOT A MOTOR CARRIER AND WILL NOT TRANSPORT AN INDIVIDUAL CUSTOMER/SHIPPER HOUSEHOLD GOODS, BUT WILL COORDINATE AND ARRANGE FOR THE TRANSPORTATION OF HOUSEHOLD GOODS BY ANY FMCSA AUTHORIZED MOTOR CARRIER” So while John GUARANTEED that their truck would be moving it, their contract specifically states they WILL NOT. More lies. Want more proof? You can go to the DOT website and see what fleet size a moving company has; for example if you put North American Van Lines in, you’ll see they have thousands of trucks. Guess how many Razor has? ZERO. Here is the proof;

https://ai.fmcsa.dot.gov/hhg/SearchDetails.asp?ads=&id=30357190&id2=32251886&f=search%3D3%26CNS%3D1%26CN%3DRazor%26DOT%3D%26MC%3D%26Submit%3DSearch

Another interesting point another review made was that they indicated this company is also part of “parent company” called United American Moving. So, while I had John on the phone and stalled a bit, I looked up United American Moving (who had horrid reviews) and as it turns out they have the same address, albeit different suite numbers. I asked if they were affiliated with United American Moving and he said he’d never heard of it. I told him they had the same address and he said that there are 4 moving companies in a massive industrial park that they’re in. Further googling showed that this address is in a small strip mall, complete with Chinese takeout restaurant. Need more proof that these companies are linked? I ran both Razor and United through the through a business registration lookup website and wouldn’t you know it? Owned by the same individual. Heres the proof;

Bait and Switch.

Was quoted $3300 by Tim and when the movers arrived they stated they would not do it for less than $6000! I told them I don’t have that kind of money. They would not accept my check for the agreed amount, and won’t refund my $1239.00 deposit or allow me to use on another mover with them even though the cancellation policy states you can for 12 months. When I tried to argue the customer service rep hung up on me. I’m on social security and don’t have that kind of money to spare. Don’t know what to do now.

Long-distance move from Chicago, IL to New York, NY

Terrible company.

Absolutely terrible experience. When we initially booked, we asked if we could have our stuff dropped off on 8/1 and they said 'yes, we can do that and we will just have to pick up your stuff off on 7/27'. One week before our move we were told there would be a 10-14 day window so the earliest our stuff would get there would be 8/10. We were totally misled by them and no one cared that they were being misleading. They just pointed us to a vague term in the contract that basically said they could not guarantee a drop off date (so could be a year later by that logic). When we were on the phone with them to complain, they said that they're cancelling our move and not giving our money back. Please don't use this company.

Razor Van Lines are different in nearly every aspect. For one, their speed is tremendous. Their moving speed is fast and so they are the ideal people to hire when you need things to be done faster. Razor has horrible service / they give false quotes.

They gave me an inaccurate quote and the day of move charged me double even though my inventory list was exactly as I told them. Proceeded to call the managers and they hung up on me. Both Beth Johnson and Shirley at Razor handled the situation poorly and were rude. The broker I worked with, Troy, gave me the original inaccurate quote even though I shared all the information of my move- number of items, bedrooms, boxes, etc. Troy rushed me into signing with them based off of a deal he could only give me that day which is totally bogus now that I know what kind of business they run. It's a total hustle and I would never recommend this company to anyone.

Razor Van Lines saved the day, seriously!

Three gentlemen managed to move 8 years’ worth of accumulated stuff from one awkward space to another at the speed of light. I was impressed with the care they took with my belongings and in moving stuff in to a bright and shiny new space. Scam.

I wish I would have read all of these reviews before speaking with "Brendan" at Razor Van Lines. They took my $1,100 deposit and I never heard from them again. Nobody ever called or showed up for the move. Once I realized I got scammed by them, I decided to cut my losses at that and rent my own uhaul to avoid inflated costs or any hostage taking of my personal property. They use bots on their website for fake reviews and I'm reasonably sure they are also using fake names when you speak to them via phone or email. I have numerous complaints filed with a few agencies and also a criminal complaint with the State of Florida against the owners of the LLC, Charles and Michael. I got the recommendation from Budget Van Lines, which appears to have 2 different websites. The real one and a fake one (budgetvanlines.com/999moving) which backdoors to the from the real website using a slash on a server hosted by Rackspace. Either Budget Van Lines is in on it or their servers and website have been hacked and compromised. I contacted them about it, but nobody I spoke to had any clue.

I have lately been a person with some really bad experiences in moving. This time I was all set to help myself with all the loading but reached this mover's company through Internet and the great reviews made me change my mind. The loader arrived on time.
